TFS middle school basketball team picks up skills

Members of the Tallulah Falls Middle School boys basketball team competed in the Mountain Madness Team Camp in Young Harris last month. The Indians competed in three games each day against some tough competition, gaining valuable game experience and setting the tone for an offseason full of hard work, coach Anthony Cox said.

At the Rabun County football team’s pool day June 27, the senior linebacker was an underdog in a belly flop contest. Pitted against offensive lineman Nolan Crane in the finals, Wheeler splashed his way to the championship.

Former Braves negotiating to join celebrity golf event

CLAYTON — Some former Atlanta Braves players are among those in negotiations to join the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Celebrity Golf Tournament next month. Sheriff Chad Nichols said he’s not yet releasing the names of the former players who have expressed interest in coming to the event benefiting Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes, because he’s still awaiting confirmation.

County passes budget with no tax increase
