Joy Lynn Mabery, 52, of Tiger, Ga., passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022.
Born on Nov. 13, 1969, she was the daughter of the late James Lynn Mabery III and Alberta Mae (Christian) Mabery. Joy was the former co-owner/operator of BJ’s Books in Dillard and Franklin. She enjoyed crafting, reading, her girls’ trips and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Joy is survived by one son Greggory Newby of Clayton, Ga.; one daughter Alberta McCannon and husband Joshua of Tiger, Ga.; two granddaughters Ellanora Newby and Daisy McCannon; three sisters, Katherine Mabery, June Perez, and Jill Shepard; one brother James Mabery IV and a best friend by chance and sister by choice Amanda Chastain.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband Kyle Speed.
A memorial service will be held on Oct. 8, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 3530 Hale Ridge Rd. Clayton, GA 30525. To honor Joy, please wear her favorite color; yellow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hunter Funeral Home to help cover the expenses.
