Jerry Lynn Sanders, age 74, of Lakemont passed away on Nov. 29, 2022.
Jerry was born the son of the late Ellis Edward Sanders and the late Maxine Atkins Sanders on March 26, 1948. In his professional life, he worked as an auto mechanic and operated the Sanders and Sons Transmission Shop.
Jerry always enjoyed the outdoors, spending his time hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed working on classic cars and loved his dogs and raising hunting beagles when he was younger. He was a little league umpire, who always placed spending time with his family as his highest priority, especially his granddaughter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
In addition to his parents one brother, Ellis Sanders, Jr., preceded him in death.
His survivors include his wife, Kelly Ann Sanders; two sons, Travis Sanders and wife Katlin, of Statham, Ga., and Cody Sanders, of Lakemont, Ga.; one daughter, Racheal Kranz and husband Nick, of Birmingham, Ala.; his sister, Shirley McNeil, of Rochester Hills, Mich.; one granddaughter, Brighton Sanders; several nephews and a niece also survives him.
The family received friends on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lakemont, Ga., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
A funeral service was held on Saturday Dec. 3, 2022, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Lakemont, Ga., at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Hutcheson and Rev. Deck James officiating.
Interment followed the service in the Liberty Cemetery in Tiger, Ga.
