Rabun County will be rocking the red, white, and blue this weekend as fireworks, food and music help celebrate the Fourth of July holiday.
Here are some of the events scheduled and open to the public:
The Dillard House
Saturday:
-Cookout and live entertainment on the Rock House lawn from 5:30-8 p.m. Beer, wine and specialty drinks available for purchase.
Sunday:
-Live entertainment by Chris Blue, season 12 winner of The Voice. BBQ cookout and fireworks on the Rock House Lawn. Fireworks begin at dark. Full bar available until 9:15 p.m. Weather permitting and the rain location is the conference center. To purchase tickets, call 800-541-0671. City of Sky Valley
Saturday:
-8-10 a.m. Sky Valley Property Owners Pancake Breakfast at the Sky Valley Country Club Pavillion.
-10-10:45 a.m. Sky Valley Rubber Duck Race. Sign up in the Community Bible Church parking lot, 696 Sky Valley Way. The fastest swimming ducks receive prizes.
-11-11:45 a.m. Sky Valley Grand Parade. Parade starts at Tahoe Lane and ends at the Sky Valley Park. There are prizes for parade entries and the Grandstand Master of Ceremony will announce the parade entries.
-11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Sky Valley/Scaly Mountain Fire Department hot dog cafe at the Sky Valley City Pavillion.
1-3 p.m. There is a planned Bouncy Children’s Obstacle Course
-5:30-8 p.m. Sid Weber Cancer Fund BBQ. Pick up BBQ dinners at the Sky Valley Country Club pavilion. Tickets are available at the Sky Valley Pro Shop, Sky Valley Timeshares, Poss Realty located in Sky Valley, Appalachian Insurance, Reeves locations in Dillard and Clayton and the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund website. Bring your own lawn chairs.
-9:15 p.m. Fireworks over the lake by the golf course.
Lake Burton
Saturday:
-The 36th annual Lake Burton Fun Run. Online registration is now closed, but limited late registration is available today and tomorrow at LaPrade’s Marina from 1-6 p.m. for $40. The race begins at 9 a.m. and hay rides/shuttles start around 7:45 a.m. from LaPrade’s up to the starting line. Email lakeburtonfunrun@gmail.com for more information.
-Fireworks at Approximately 9:30 p.m. The rain date is July 4, 2021.
Lake Rabun
Saturday:
-The Rabun Ramble Road Race starts at 7:30 a.m. The race starts and ends at the Lake Rabun Pavillion. For more information, go to the Rabun Ramble website or Facebook page. The deadline to register was June 27.
-Fireworks at the dam at 9:15 p.m.
Sunday:
-The Wooden Boat Parade starts at 10:30 a.m.
-The BBQ and Bluegrass festival will be held from 6-10 p.m.
Monday:
-Golf tournament at The Orchard Golf
