William Logan Speed, born January 13, 1957, of the Warwoman Community of Clayton, fought the battle of his life against cancer and left this earth on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 5:52 p.m. to join his father, Fred Davis Speed, in heaven.

He will be waiting in heaven for his wife, Lori Gillespie Speed, his mother, Betty W. Roane and stepfather Alex Roane; a brother, Winfred Julius Speed, his children Tiffany Suzanne Speed, Logann Tyra Speed, Amanda Tice Watson, Diana Dawne Sult, Zarek Echols, and Olivia Dillman; his grandchildren, Annie Hope Justus, Davis Jewel Hendrix, Forrest, Hunter, Stella, Meghan, and Cole Dillman, Payton Hunter, Braxton and Jaxon Sult; along with many more friends, family and loved ones.

The strongest and toughest man his family ever knew will be honored and remembered on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Beck Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. followed by a celebration of his life at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Beck Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Cates and Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations can be made to Sid Weber Memorial Fund or The American Lung Association.
