Claude Michael Shankle, 65, of Clayton, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at his residence.

He was born May 7, 1948, in St. Petersburg, Fla. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was a professional musician and avid fisherman.

He is survived by: a son, Shea Michael Shankle and wife Heather of Nashville, Tenn.; a daughter, Angelica Marie Musall of Galesburg, Mich.; three brothers, Patrick Shankle and Wanda of Belleview Mo., Tim Shankle of Lakemont and Mark Shankle of Largo, Fla.; three grandchildren, Sadie Shankle and Gabriel and Nate Musall; and a very special friend, Dale Betts and his family.

The family will hold a memorial service at 6 p.m. Friday at his residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to United Hospice or the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund.
