Mary Frances Ward, 90, affectionately known as Fran of Tiger, died Monday Oct. 21, 2013, at Cannonwood Village. She was the widow of Russell Raymond Ward.

She was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Meridian, Miss., to the late Guy and Mary Grace Hicks. She was owner/operator of Ward Hardware Company in Turks and Caicos Islands in British West Indies and was a member of Clayton First United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Anne Ward Pinder.

Survivors include: three sons; Russell Ward (Jackie) of Tiger, David Ward (Sally) of British West Indies and John H, Ward (Stephanie) of British West Indies; a sister, Billie Hicks Daniel Evens (Dell) of Clayton; eight grandchildren; Russell, Robert, Christina and Danielle Ward, Gregory and Jennifer Pinder, Brett Lockwood and Brooke (Dave) Lestock; and two great-grandchildren, Donny Pinder and Haylee Lockwood.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Clayton First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Green. The Rev. Scott Woodard will conduct the graveside service at Roane Cemetery.

The body is at Hunter Funeral Home, and the family is at the home on Sterrett Road in Tiger. The body will be placed Saturday in Clayton First United Methodist Church, where family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m.
