Charles Edward Moore, 64, husband of Conda Katie Hembree Moore of Long Creek, S.C., died Saturday, May 25, 2013, at Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, N.C.

He was born in Clayton to the late Edd and Dorothy Rholetter Moore. He was a lifelong resident of Long Creek. He was the owner of C&T Backhoe and Dozer Service, Inc. and co-owner of Brasstown Creek Barbecue. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Moore is survived by: a son, Ted Moore (Angie) of Greenville, S.C.; a daughter, Dottie Daly (Andy) of Crown Point, Ind.; a brother, Chris Moore (Loran) of Westminster, S.C.; sisters, Jean Moore Carter (Winifred) of Long Creek, Betty Moore Lovell of Clayton and Kay Moore Harbin (Lewis) of Westminster; and two granddaughters, Mackenzie and Brooke Daly.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Davenport Funeral Home chapel. Burial followed at Damascus Baptist Church in Long Creek.

Memorials may be made to the Rathbun House, 121 Sherwood Road, Asheville, NC 28803.
