He was born in Habersham County to Virgil and Polly Keller Loudermilk. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Doug Loudermilk.
He is survived by: his mother; his wife, Linda Jean Shirley Loudermilk of Clayton; his mother-in-law, Ruth Shirley; his father-in-law, J.R. Evans; five sons, Bradley Loudermilk of Mount Airy, Kane Davidson of Clayton, Sterlin Justice of Clayton, Jon Justice of Rabun Gap and Clay Hunnicutt of Clayton; four daughters, Hollie Brown of Franklin, N.C., Susan Rogers of Tiger, Abbi Hunnicutt of Tiger and Kiana Loudermilk of Clayton; two brothers, Ronnie “Bones” Loudermilk of Mount Airy and James Loudermilk of Toccoa; a sister, Jeanette Loudermilk of Mount Airy; 12 grandchildren, Tanner Loudermilk, Karagan Justice, Addison Justice, Dawson Richmond, Lauren James, Tanner Stamey, Trace Stamey, Kennedy Rogers, Braden Rogers, Gracyn Rogers, Della Hunnicutt and Marley Eve Clay.
Dan was a maintenance supervisor for the Habersham County Road Department and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on his old historic automobiles and building motors. His last project was a 1970 Chevrolet El Camino. He was a wonderful son and a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved being with his grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. in the church with the Revs. Mike Cochran and Michael Rogers officiating.
