Sally Ann McAllister Squires Broaddrick, 81, of Tiger, died March 25, 2013.

She was born in Charlotte, N.C., and grew up in Charleston S.C., Columbia, S.C., and Dalton. She was the only child of James Clarence Squires and Stella Misenheimer Squires.

Sally was a registered nurse, receiving her training at Crawford W. Long School of Nursing. Her professional experience included service at Pavilion Internists in Greenville, N.C., and as a nurse at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School. She enjoyed various volunteer opportunities and served on the advisory board of Rhapsody in Rabun for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Lloyd “Tom” Broaddrick.

She is survived by: a son, Christopher Allen Broaddrick (Cynthia) of Black Mountain, N.C.; a daughter, Ellen Broaddrick Gould (Walter) of Oxford, N.C.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Beck Funeral Home. The family will receive guests beginning at 1 p.m. at Beck Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Richard’s Kids, 47 Deer Creek Trail, Clayton, GA 30525-4373; or to Clayton Presbyterian Church, 150 N. Church St., Clayton, GA 30525.
