Billy Lewis Hamby, 82, of Rabun Gap, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

He was born July 27, 1930, in Clayton to Lewis Hamby and Mille Wall Hamby. His parents preceded him in death.

Survivors include: his wife of 60 years, Odelle Kelly Hamby; a daughter, Gail Coleman of Rabun Gap; grandchildren, Keri Cannon (Johnathon) of Clayton, Kami English (Brandon) of Tiger and Cody Coleman of Rabun Gap; great-grandchildren, Scout and Colter Cannon, Kaitlin Coleman and Maddox English.

Mr. Hamby worked for the Georgia Department of Transportation and was the owner and operator of a cabinet shop in Rabun Gap. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, camping and farming. He was of the Baptist faith.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Beck Funeral Home with the Revs. James Turpen, Doug Volk and Doug Aultman officiating. Burial followed at Wesley Memorial Cemetery.
