She was born April 8, 1944 in Rabun County to the late Carl and Louise Stancil. She was the widow of the late Victor H. Turpen.
She is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Terry Tyler of Mountain City; three grandchildren, Samantha, Derek and Kadi Tyler; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Lille and Vaughn Billingsley of Rabun Gap and Linda and Rondall Crow of Clarkesville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Celia Stancil of Rabun Gap and James and Vickie Stancil of Rabun Gap; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Taylor’s Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Cale Stancil officiating. Burial followed at Taylor’s Chapel Cemetery.
