Gail Watkins Taylor Bishop, 64, of Perry, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012.

Mrs. Bishop was born in Clayton to the late Conway and Frankie Fountain Watkins. She grew up in Clayton, where she graduated from high school. She soon moved to Perry where she would settle and begin her career in civil service at Robins Air Force Base, where she worked for 39 years. Gail loved her family and the time she spent with her children and grandchildren. Each year, she looked forward to the annual family vacation to the beach. Gail enjoyed working with her husband in the yard, making sure that each tree and shrub was planted in just the right spot, even if it meant he had to move it. For years, she has cherished her little pet Yorkies and the comfort they have brought to her during her illness. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ellis Watkins.

Left to treasure the memories of “Nana” are her beloved husband of 15 years, Bobby Bishop of Perry; her children, Deanna Taylor Revell (Jeff) of Perry and Jay Taylor (Melissa) of Nashville, Tenn.; her stepchildren, Roger A. Bishop (Christy) of Macon County and Robbie Bishop (Carrie) of Perry; her siblings, Dot Chastain, Marie Queen, Tom Watkins (Regina) and Janie Hill; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her sweet Yorkie, Sassy.

Funeral services were held Sept. 15 at Second Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Tracy Brinson officiating. Burial followed in Perry Memorial Gardens. Visitation was held Sept. 14 at Watson-Hunt Funeral Home.

Friends are invited to share a special memory or leave a condolence for the family in the online guestbook at www.watsonhunt.com.
