Deborah Ann “Debbie” Weatherly Burrell, 57, of Tiger, died Thursday night, Jan. 19, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 7, 1955, in Valdosta to the late George Malcolm and Carolyn Ussery Weatherly. She lived almost all of her life in Rabun County. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and was a teacher with the Rabun County school system.

She is survived by: her husband, Glenn Steven “Dock” Burrell of Tiger; a daughter, Lana Carolyn Burrell of Tiger; an aunt, Bee Weatherly Broadrick of Tiger; a first cousin, Linda Avant of Clayton; and two second cousins, Richard Avant and Stephanie Avant.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Cates officiating. Graveside services followed at Liberty Cemetery with the Rev. Cranford Carnes officiating.
