Joan Crawford Veal, 67, of Clayton, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Dec. 15, 1944, in Rabun County to the late Mart and Eva English Crawford. She was a member of Tiger United Methodist Church. She was a teacher’s aid for Rabun County Schools for many years and operated a jewelry store in Clayton for 15-plus years.

Survivors are: three sons, Marty and wife Christie, Matthew and Mitchell Veal, all of Clayton; two brothers, Mack Crawford and Broderick Crawford, both of Clayton; two sisters, Beanie Ramey of Clayton and Carolyn Patterson of Tiger; a grandson, Tanner Veal; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Tiger United Methodist Church with the Rev. James E. Turpen officiating. Burial followed at Tiger Cemetery.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Tiger United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 467, Tiger, GA 30576
