Mary Elizabeth DeHart Williams, 83, of Dillard, died Friday night, Jan. 6, 2012, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

She was born Feb. 14, 1928, in Sylva, N.C., to the late John and Iona Hurst DeHart. She was the widow of James Edward Williams Sr. She was a licensed practical nurse, having served at Rabun County Hospital, Angel Medical Center in Franklin, N.C., Mountain View Health Care in Clayton and was school nurse at Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, as well as the nurse at Burlington Industries in Rabun Gap. She loved people, so for over the last 10 years she had been a special greeter at Walmart in Clayton.

Elizabeth is survived by: two sons and their wives, Eddie and April Williams of Clemmons, N.C., and John and Deborah Williams of Cumming; a grandson, Brandon Dupont of Athens; and two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Blake Dupont.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross Wheeler officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Head of Tennessee Baptist Church, Dillard, GA; and/or to Dillard United Methodist Church, Dillard, GA.
