Frances Harriet Fry Deal

Frances Harriet Fry Deal, 88, of Dillard, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 2, 2011, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Hart County to the late H.L. and Mattie Trotter Fry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Dr. E.L. Fry, Ray M. Fry and James Cranford Fry.

She is survived by: her loving husband of 68 years, James Franklin Deal of Dillard; a son, Steve Deal and wife Ann of Cumming; two daughters, Vicki Deal and husband Roy Bunce of Longmeadow, Mass., and Meagan Deal Ellington and husband Jim of Birmingham, Ala.; a sister, Martha Fry Moore of Anderson, S.C.; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Deal graduated from Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, Rabun Gap Nacoochee Jr. College and Georgia State College for Women with a bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She grew up in Dillard and attended Dillard United Methodist Church since the age of 7. In addition to being a member of the church, she was also a member of the Dillard Church Women’s Club. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a wonderful cook, homemaker and friend to all.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Dillard United Methodist Church with the Revs. James Turpen and Ross Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
