Stephen “Steve” Gipson, 61, of the Five Points community, Clayton, died Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

He was born June 22, 1950, in Rabun County the son of Fred Gipson and Irene Queen. He was employed at Sangamo-Weston for several years and at Ridgecrest Hospital. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by: a brother, David Dockins; and his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Bertha Moore Queen.

Survivors include: his parents, Irene Queen Dockins of Clayton and Fred Gipson of Lakemont; two brothers, Mike Queen of Clayton and Allen Dockins of Villa Rica; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

The body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home with Lloyd Hunter officiating. The family is at the home and will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Boggs Mountain Humane Shelter, 261 Boen Creek Road, Tiger, GA 30576.
