Wylene Ramey Wall, 83, of Otto, N.C., formerly of Clayton and widow of William David Wall (best known as W.D.), died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013, at Angel Medical Center in Franklin, N.C., with her family and loved ones by her side.

She was a matriarch and dearly loved by all who knew her and especially her children and grandchildren. She was the glue that held her family together, and her loss leaves a hole that can never be filled. She was the queen of our hearts. Wylene was born May 31, 1930, to the late Henry W. Ramey and Mona Wooten Ramey. She was a homemaker and caregiver and a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by: a son, Melvin Wall; two grandsons, Little Mel and Little Bo Wall; two brothers, James Henry “Babe” Ramey and Dock Ramey; and two sisters, Magdalene Gibson and Irene Crone.

Survivors include: a son, Vance Wall and wife Patricia of Franklin; four daughters, Rita Mosley and husband Leigh of Clayton, Mona Cole and husband Frederick of Otto, Greta Bozeman and husband Allen of Rabun Gap and Tina Duncan of Clayton; a sister, Annie Mae Rogers of Clayton; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.

Graveside services were held Wednesday at Rabun Memory Park.
