Thomas Andrew Parker, 55, Clayton, affectionately known as “Tommy,” died suddenly and unexpectedly Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.

He was born Dec. 30, 1957, in Rabun County to James Andrew Parker of Franklin, N.C., and the late Peggy Ann Martin Parker. He was employed for several years in the textile industry with Fruit of the Loom and most recently with Ingles Market in Clayton. He was a former member of the Clayton Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Parker and Linda Parker Holcomb.

Survivors include: his wife, Claudia Watts Parker of Clayton; a son Kendall Parker of Clayton; his father and stepmother, James Andrew and Margie Quilliams Parker of Franklin; and a stepbrother, Bobby Vinson of Clayton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Battle Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery with Lloyd Hunter officiating.
