Homegoing services for Ryan Alden Baker, 29, of Mt. Airy, are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, with Dr. Naomi Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

Mr. Baker went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at his residence.

Born March 12, 1983, in Stephens County, he was the son of Deborah Cole Baker of Mt. Airy, and Clyde Baker Jr. of Clayton County.

Ryan received his master’s of education degree from Piedmont College and worked as a drama instructor for the last several years with the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy and with Habersham Central High School. He was also an English instructor with North Georgia Technical College. Ryan was an inspiration to many, loved traveling, and most of all spending time with his family. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy, and was preceded in death by his grandfather, Robert Cole.

In addition to his parents, Ryan leaves behind to cherish his memories his sister and her fiancé, Alexis Baker and Rico Stargell of Atlanta; sister, Nicole Pinkston of Lavonia; stepfather, David Stewart of Mt. Airy; grandparents, Christine Cole of Mt. Airy, Clyde Baker Sr. and Roberta Baker of Toccoa; fiancé, Jemima Fortune of Gainesville; nephew, Cole Stargell of Atlanta; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1-3 p.m. prior to the funeral hour on Thursday.
