He was born Feb. 10, 1935, in Rabun County to Raymond and Florence Taylor Marsengill. Robert graduated from Rabun County High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked with his father in his father’s radio and TV shop in Atlanta and took care of his mother. He spent all of his life in Rabun County. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Raymond and Florence Taylor Marsengill; and three brothers, Frank Marsengill, Ronald Marsengill and Charles Taylor.
Survivors include four sisters, Rose Hudson (Marshal) of Belleview, Fla., and Tiger, Dorothy Shehulski of Watkinsville, Mary Jones (Steve) of Taylorsville, N.C., and Margaret Gardner (Blair) of Surf City, N.C.
Funeral services were held Monday at the Hunter Funeral Home chapel with Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial followed at Roane Cemetery.
