Robert Edward Crunkleton, 82, of Clayton, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

He was born in Rabun County to the late David Thomas Crunkleton and Maude McClain Crunkleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: three brothers, William ”Bill” Crunkleton, Thomas M. Crunkleton and George Franklin Crunkleton; and four sisters, Luna Mae Crunkleton, Lula Christina Crunkleton, Lola Marie Sneed and Cloe Ramey.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was retired from United Parcel Service.

Mr. Crunkleton is survived by: a son, Robert Thomas Crunkleton of Atlanta; a daughter, Patricia Lynne Crunkleton Menard of Ormond Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Laura Corean Debord and Lois Inez Scroggs, both of Candler, N.C., and Lucy Hudson of Loganville; two grandchildren, Amanda Coker and Michelle Kupronis; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will held Saturday in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Hunnicutt officiating. Burial followed at Crunkleton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 2206 Bridge Creek Road, Tiger, GA 30576; or to Tiger United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 497, Tiger, GA 30576.
