Nancy Thompson Purcell, 62, of Lakemont and formerly of Tifton, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2013, at her home. She was born Dec. 31, 1950, in Tift County to the late Marshall L. Thompson and Bessie Smith Thompson.

Nancy was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Leroy Thompson, Harold Thompson and Walter Thompson.

Nancy is survived by: her husband of 44 years, Billy D. Purcell; a sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Robert Laramore of Tifton; a brother, Johnny Thompson of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial donations can be made to the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 485, Rabun Gap, GA 30568; or to Paws 4 Life, P.O. Box 216, Clayton, GA 30525.

A memorial service was held Wednesday in the Beck Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Jim Carver and Avery Lawrence officiating.

An additional memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Home in Tifton with the Rev. Avery Lawrence officiating.
