Kenneth Lamar James, 57, of Scaly Mountain, N.C., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 15, 2013.

He was born Sept. 26, 1956, in Franklin, N.C., to Karl Kenneth James and the late Rena Pauline Zachery James.

In addition to his father, Lamar is survived by: his loving wife, Kimberly Ann Cody James of the home; a son, Kenneth Jordan James of Scaly Mountain; two daughters, Jessica Renee James Nicholson of Greensboro, N.C., and Beverly Shea James of Glenville, N.C.; two brothers, Russell James and wife Peggy and Mitchell James, both of Scaly Mountain; two sisters, Debbie Fair and husband C.B. of Kennesaw and Sonya James of Rabun Gap; two grandchildren, Natasha Lashea Baumgarner and Briana Nicole Baumgarner; three nieces, Sarah Fair, Ashley James and Addie Cody; and four nephews, Logan Black, Chad James, Dylan Cody and Ethan Cody.

Lamar was a lifelong farmer with his brother at James Farms. He enjoyed farming, hunting, his church and loved family gatherings. He was a very loving husband and father and was a member of Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church.

Funeral services were held Monday at Flats of Middle Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Dwight Loggins and Jamie Chastain officiating. Lamar Billingsley gave the eulogy. Burial followed at Scaly Mountain Methodist Cemetery.
