She was born July 31, 1945, in Richmond, Va., to the late Leroy and Melba Rigdon Babcock. She was retired as a registered nurse.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sandra Lynn Babcock Moore.
Survivors include: her husband, Michael B. Hurley of Clarkesville; by three sons, Richard Simpson and wife Carol Mainline of Atlanta, Mike Hurley of Cumming and Brian Hurley of Oxford; a daughter, Mary Beth Thomas of Maysville; a brother, David Babcock and wife Caroline of Valdosta; a sister, Jill Babcock-Penn and husband Alfred of Douglas; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Also surviving is C. Everett Moore of Jacksonville, Fla., widower of Sandra Lynn Babcock Moore.
The body has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
