He was born in Emanuel County to the late George Albert and Quinee Lamb Parrish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Parrish; a brother, George A. Parrish; and two sisters, Beatrice Yoemans and Nandine Turner.
Mr. Parrish is survived by: his loving wife, Charlotte Gleeson Parrish; a son, Jeff Parrish and wife Shana of Easley, S.C.; a daughter, Debbie Parrish; stepdaughters, Judith and Rich Panico of Athens and Corrie and David Overton of Clarkesville; stepsons, Charles and Nancy Jackson of Athens, Richard and Ann Spears of Clarkesville and James and Juliet Spears of Woodbridge, England; five grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.
He was vice president of Bank of Clayton for a number of years, was a member of the National Guard and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Mount Airy.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Antioch Baptist Church in Mount Airy with the Rev. Brian Stephens officiating.
