Hugh Dennis Justus, 66, of Franklin, N.C., loving father, grandfather and husband, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

He was born in Rabun County to the late Webb D. and Mae Baker Justus. He was an accomplished carpenter and owned Justus Homebuilders. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Justus.

Survivors include: his wife, Amy Berg Justus; two daughters, Sarah Adams and husband Steven of Franksville, Wis., and Emily Justus of Franklin; a son, Ian Justus of Camarillo, Calif.; a sister, Barbara Strickland of Oakwood; a brother, Howard Justus of Clayton; and two grandchildren, Ruth and Kaylee Adams, both of Franksville.

Memorial services were held Saturday in the chapel of Bryant‑Grant Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Josh Brooks officiating. Franklin VFW Post 7339 and American Legion Post 108 performed complete military rites.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the North Carolina Library for the Blind, 1841 Capital Blvd., Raleigh, NC 27635.
