Harold L. “Red” Donaldson, 88, of Waterford, Mich., and formerly of Mountain City, died Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

He was the loving husband of the late Louise Short  and Elizabeth “Betty”; dear father of Yvonne (Jerry) Glass, the late Elaine Page, Bruce (Beverly) Donaldson, Wanda (Frank) Roach, Ken Donaldson, the late Patricia Donaldson, Rodney (Carla) Donaldson and Pamela (Clint) Donaldson; grandfather of 17; great-grandfather of 24; and brother of Juanita Kilby.

He was preceded in death by siblings Lewis, James and Robert Donaldson, Louise Church and Elise Fields.

Red was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from GM in 1999 after 50 years of service. He was a member of Dixie Baptist Church. Red was a loving and devoted family man. He was well liked by all who met him.

The funeral was held Monday at Coats Funeral Home in Waterford. Burial followed at Hillview Cemetery in Springfield Township, Mich. An online guestbook is available at www.CoatsFuneralHome.com/Obituaries.
