She was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Rabun County to the late Vaughn and Christine Ramey Youngblood. She was a seamstress at Clayburne Manufacturing Company and also was a manager at Dollar General. She was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Commanders Club and Southern Appalachian Cloggers. She also was a member of Clayton Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by: a brother, Boyd Youngblood; and a sister, Cheryl Youngblood.
Survivors include: a son, John Gibson of South Carolina; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gail and Mitch Whitmire and Terry and Destry Smith of Clayton; a brother, Ricky Youngblood of Clayton; four sisters, Charlotte Welborn and Rita Johnson, both of Clayton, Wendy Burton of Laurens, S.C., and Bettina Yarbrough of Wiley; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The body has been cremated, and a memorial service is being held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Family members are at their respective residences.
