He was born Dec. 26, 1951, in Rabun County to the late Jim and Cleo McConnell Taylor. He retired from Fruit of the Loom and Burlington Industries in the textile industry after 34 years of service. He was a member of Head of Tennessee Baptist Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Bessie Dowdle Taylor of Rabun Gap; three daughters, Tammy Mize and husband Henry of Clayton, Lisa Taylor of Franklin N.C., and Donna McKinzey and husband Joey of Dahlonega; two brothers, Edward Taylor and wife Jeanette of Otto, N.C., and Ellis Taylor and wife Barbara of Rabun Gap; three sisters, Betty English and husband Allen of Tiger, Barbara Woodall and husband Larry of Rabun Gap and Beatrice Welch and husband Willard of Clayton; five grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Revs. Allen Webb and Alton Dendy officiating. Burial followed at Head of Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillard.
