Ellen Patricia Hansen Roberts, 77, of Rabun Gap, passed away Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C.

She was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Rockland County, N.Y., to Sven Hansen and Agnes Graney Hansen. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: a brother, Edward Hansen; and three sisters, Jeannie McMann, Peggy Curcie and Dottie Hansen.

Mrs. Roberts is survived by: a son, Michael Roberts of Chesnee, S.C.; a daughter, Robin R. Buchanan and husband John of Clayton; six grandchildren, Christopher Bartolomey, Jonathan Bartolomey, Ashley Bartolomey, Ariel Pulliam, Anna Rose Bartolomey and Autumn Bartolomey; and four great-grandchildren, Dawson Pulliam, Cooper Bartolomey, Jayden Servin and Bradley Bartolomey.

She was president of the American bank of Hollywood, attended St. Helena Catholic Church and loved to read. She was a very caring and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

The family will have a mass at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Helena Catholic Church with the Rev. Alvaro Avendano officiating.
