Ella Beck Watts, 80, of Clayton, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of Carl Watts.

She was born Aug. 28, 1932, in Oconee County, S.C., to the late Emory S. and Pearl Turner Beck. She was a cook in restaurants and a member of the Carver’s Chapel Baptist Church. Ella was always known for her kind heart and helping out others in their time of need. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She is survived by: her loving husband Carl Watts of Clayton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and a special friend of the family, Michele Speed Anderson.

Funeral services were held Monday at the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Cannon and Madision McCrackin officiating. Burial followed in the Stancil Family Cemetery on Dud Creek Spur Road in the Chechero community.
