Dwight Perteet, 82, of Tiger, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at his residence.

He was born in Rabun County to the late Charles Rabun and Birdie Alley Perteet. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army who served his country during the Korean War. He was an employee of Rabun Mills for more than 40 years, and after retiring he did carpentry work. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed farming and babysitting his grandchildren.

He is survived by: his wife, Lorene Dockins Perteet of Tiger; a son, Kirk Perteet and wife Brenda of Tiger; a daughter, Kathy P. Holcomb and husband Ellis of Clayton; a brother, Charles Rabun Perteet and wife Virginia of Tiger; a sister, Martha P. Ayers of Marietta; a sister-in-law, Barbara Dockins of Tiger; two grandchildren, Krissi Perteet of Clayton and Rance Perteet and wife Amy of Tiger; a great-grandchild, Sarah Grace Perteet; nieces, Glenda Graham, Barbara Wilson and Sissy Dockins; and nephews, Charles Parrish, Sam Parrish, Benny Dockins and Dusty Ayers.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Beck Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial followed at Rabun Memory Park.

Memorial donations may be made to the Gail Ramey Family Fund, P.O. Box 845, Clayton, GA 30525 to assist in the care of Elisha Ramey.
