Doris Ann Queen Forester, 82, of Clayton, died Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011, at her residence.

She was born July 25, 1929, in Rabun County to the late Jacob Ernest Queen and Allah Moseley Queen (Ramey). She was the widow of William Harris Forester. Doris retired as a bookkeeper with A&P Tea Company. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter 164 and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Harris Forester; and her parents, Ernest Queen and Allah Moseley.

Survivors include: two sons, Ronald D. Forester of Verona, Va., and Randall H. Forester and wife Velia “V” of Athens; a sister, Allene Queen Phillips of Clayton; and a grandson, Matthew Forester.

Funeral services were held Friday at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial followed at Rabun Memory Park.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
