Denver Clarence Taylor, 74, of Lakemont, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, in Athens.

He was born Oct. 14, 1937, in Rabun County to the late Jesse and Jessie Garland Taylor. He was a forklift operator in the textile industry and worked in the construction industry for a number of years. He also was a member of the Coon Hunters Association and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Taylor.

Survivors include: two daughters, Kathy Taylor Casper and husband Pat of Oakwood and Karen Taylor Ivester and husband Edgar of Mount Airy; a brother, Sam Taylor of Tiger; two sisters, Mildred Turpin of Franklin, N.C., and Eunice and Gene Billingsley of Scaly Mountain, N.C.; three grandchildren, Misty Turpin and husband Kevin, Kristi Ivester and Christopher Ivester; and a great-grandson, Hampton Turpin.

The body has been cremated, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to Victory Home, 320 Victory Home Lane, Tallulah Falls, GA 30573.
