He was born March 2, 1922, in Clarkesville to the late George Thomas Church and Essie Emma Whitworth Church.
He was preceded in death by: his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Burrell Church; his brothers, Arvil, Ralph, Aubrey, Nimmo and Elmer Church; and by his sisters, Polly Church and Oma Lee Skelton.
Survivors include: nieces and nephews, Phyllis Head, Mervin Lovell, Berry and Anthony Church, Doris Ford and Oleine Finley of Anniston, Ala.; several other nieces and nephews from Clarkesville; and members of Dorothy’s family in Rabun County. Two special friends and caregivers, Brenda Lunsford and Darlene Carver, also survive. Mr. Church was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr Church loved the Lord and was a member of the Clarkesville Baptist Church since 1947. He was the owner and operator of Church Tire Company and Church Paving Company for many years. Special appreciation goes to Bill McClure, Tim and Tony McClure, Phyllis, Berry, Brenda, Donna, Kim Lovell and Doris and Oleine for all their love and support.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Carver and layman Lloyd Hunter officiating. Burial followed at Clarkesville City Cemetery.
