Clee Hooper Scruggs, 93, of Rabun Gap, widow of Wallace Scruggs, died Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Habersham Medical Center in Demorest.

She was born April 8, 1919, in Hiawassee to the late James and Sally Eller Hooper. She lived most of her life in Rabun County. She was a seamstress. She was a member of the Rabun Gap Homemakers Club and a member of the Mountain City United Methodist Church for more than 65 years.

She was preceded in death by: five brothers, Bell Hooper, Garnett Hooper, Garland Hooper, E.C. Hooper and James Lee Hooper; and three sisters, Emma Partain, Lucy Berrong and Marie Hooper. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Survivors include: a daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Rayford Poole of Alto; a grandson, Ronnie Poole of Alto; two sisters-in-law, Anna Jo Hooper and Irene Hooper, both of Hiawassee; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services were held Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. James E. Turpen officiating. Burial followed at Wesley Cemetery in Rabun Gap.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mountain City United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 305, Mountain City, GA 30562.
