Alfred Tillman Waters, 90, of Clayton, died Thursday, March 8, 2012, at his residence.

He was born Aug. 24, 1921, in Rabun County to the late Malachi and Ollie Nichols Waters. He was a landscaper by trade and was a member of Black Rock Baptist Church. Mr. Waters enjoyed working and spending time outdoors.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Waters, and a sister, Alice Elliott. He was the last member of his immediate family.

Survivors include: two sons and daughters-in-law, Harrison and Kathy Waters of Clayton and James and Joyce Waters of Tiger; four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Monroe Queen of Clayton, Diane and Gary Taylor of Mountain City, Dorothy and Boyd Carnes of Tiger and Sharon and Chris York of Demorest; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday at Hunter Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris York officiating. Burial followed at Pickett Cemetery.
