Michael "Mike" Creed Ramey, age 76, of Lakemont, Ga., passed away on Dec. 12, 2022, at his home.

Michael was born the son of the late Burch Creed Ramey and the late Essie Elizabeth Page Ramey on April 14, 1946. In his professional life he worked as a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed being outside hunting or fishing. He always liked camping with his friends and taking care of his dogs. He dearly loved his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his dog, Chloe.

In addition to his parents, five brothers, Hoyt Ramey (Barbara), Clifford Ramey (Loppy), Johnny Ramey (Jean), Bobby Ramey (Marsha), Russell Ramey and two sisters, Ophelia Turner (Thomas) and Janet Turner (K.T.) preceded him in death.

His survivors include his loving wife, Reba Dotson Ramey, of the home; his three daughters, Nancy Harrison (Paul), of Jacksonville, Fla., Leisa Wall (Tim), of Lakemont, Amy Bailey (Robbie), of Lakemont; one sister, Opal Ivester (Hugh); one sister in law, Burma Ramey; his grandchildren, Parker Harrison (Morgan), Isaac Wall (Taylor), Ashlyn Gergeni (James), Abbie Munroe (Dalton), Lexie Baliey, Tristen Harrison, Haylie Bailey, Dawson Bailey, Skyler Bailey; his great-grandchildren, Olivia Harrison, P.J. Harrison, Harrison Gergeni; many nieces and nephews also survive him.

The family received friends on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2022, at the Beck Funeral Home in Clayton, Ga., from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday Dec. 15, 2022, at the Battle Branch Baptist Church in Clayton with Rev. Madison McCracken and Rev. Dennis Turner officiating.

Committal will follow in the Wiley Cemetery in Wiley, Ga.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Battle Branch Baptist Church P.O. Box 483 Clayton, GA 30525 in Mike’s memory.
