Harry Hank C. Kelly Jr. passed away on Monday, Oct. 3, 2022, at the age of 83. He was born in Pascagoula, Miss., on Dec. 30, 1938, to Harry Caswell Kelly Sr. and Hilda Erikson Kelly.

Hank is survived his wife of 31 years, JoDean Liuzza Kelly; daughter, Kecia Kelly Picard (Robert); and step-sons, Scott Holsten and Dennis Carter. He is also survived by his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Hank was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Patrick Erickson Kelly; and his first wife of 22 years, Joan Davis of Norfolk, Va.

Hank received his BS in Geology from Mississippi State University and his degree in Petro physical Engineering from McNeese State University. He was a U.S. Navy Lt. JG Commission from 1960-65 and served on the USS Enterprise CVN65 as a Naval Intelligence Officer. Hank worked 40-plus years in the Oil/Energy Industry, working with Schlumberger, Superior Oil, Mobil Oil, Mobil Energy, Ziff Energy, Baker Hughes and Century Exploration.

Hank was very involved in many charitable events over the years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Covington, La., before moving to Georgia where he became a member of the Sky Valley Chapel, Sky Valley, Ga. He was a member of the Mid South Seniors Golf Association. Hank loved the game of golf, and played until recently with the help of many golf buddies, who could locate his ball for him. He loved his New Orleans Saints and held season tickets for many years. He also supported the Mississippi State University Alumni Association and was a constant fan of his Bulldogs.

Relatives and friends were invited to attend the funeral service at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W 21st Avenue, Covington, La., on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022, at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. until service time. Interment followed the service in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, 2280 W 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433.
