Physical limitations are not always visible. Blue handicap placards often do not disclose mental health crises.Lengthy mental illness issues are possible, but people also can have cases that are much more abrupt. Only medically certified professionals are capable of making a diagnosis.

Rickman to leave Court of Appeals judgeship

Judge Brian Rickman is retiring from the Georgia Court of Appeals and joining a Cornelia law firm. He announced the decision Monday, and he plans for his last day on the bench to be July 2, the end of the court’s current term.

Ramshackle festival returns to downtown Clayton June 6

The City of Clayton is kicking off the summer of 2026 with its third annual Ramshackle Street Festival on Saturday, June 6. The streets of downtown Clayton will be bustling with activity from locals and visitors from all around looking forward to live music, shopping and local eats.

More than 200 people attended the eighth Annual 9th Congressional District Blue BBQ hosted by the Rabun County Democrats. The event held on Saturday, May 30, at the Pavilions in downtown Clayton showcased 12 Democratic candidates for office who shared their platforms and greeted the guests.

Advance voting for runoff begins June 8

Advance in-person voting in Rabun County for the June 16 General Election Runoff will begin Monday, June 8, and run through June 12. Early voting will be held at Rabun County Board of Elections at 184 S Main St., Suite 102, Clayton from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
